Issue/Introduction

Would like to monitor when a network device interface goes down.

The metric that we have to monitor are

1) AdminStatusPollable

2) OperStatusPollable

Created SMMP Template for the two monitors and applied it to the device.

Have also enabled static alarm for the two metrics.

In SNMP collector, the interface shows that they are being managed by the template that we created.

We are able to see the polling on the device in OC.

However, when we simulate an interface down, there was no alarm created.

From the polling graph, we can see that the two metric status changed.

Waited up to 5 poll and still no alarm.

The interface was left in a down state for about an hour and still no alarm

Environment

Any supported UIM version

component: snmpcollector

Resolution

Root cause in this use case was that a pre-processing rule within the nas probe was filtering out the Qos Interface alarms

After this was corrected alarms were seen as expected in Alarm console
