Unable to add ETC to Grand Total column

Issue/Introduction

You are in task assignments and want to add ETC.  Under View Options, you select 'Grand Totals' under totals.  There is an assignment that has actuals and zero ETCs and you are unable to add ETCs to the Grand Total in the per-period metrics.  If you add ETC to one of the Periods, then you can go back to Grand Totals and add ETCs to be spread through the periods.

Resolution

This is by design. 

• In Grand Totals, the existing curve date boundaries won't change the dates of the curve
• The 'Total' (SUM OF PERIODS) will use the periods, spread the amount, and adjust the dates of the curve if necessary 
• When there is ZERO ETC on the assignment, the Finish Date on the assignment goes up to the actuals thru date
• There is no remaining work expected for this resource assignment, therefore, no additional ETC is expected automatically. 
• The only way to add more ETC on this type of assignment is to update the assignment via Sum of Periods total or in a specific period
