Issue/Introduction

10.8 Installer do not recognize 10.7 installation folder.

When attempting to upgrade from 10.7 to 10.8, the installer do not recognize the 10.7 existing folder do not allow us to update, only do a fresh new install.

Resolution

This happens due to a couple of reasons:

1) In order to upgrade from 10.7 to 10.8 you must have the HF84 deployed, If you do have a higher FIX deployed it will not be eligible to be upgraded. If you do have a higher fix than 84, please do the following:

  • Open your IntroscopeEnterpriseManager.properties
  • Edit the line where there is "Hotfix 10.7.0-HF87" to "Hotfix 10.7.0-HF84".”
  • Save the file, and try to upgrade.

2) Make sure that your folder called "UninstallerData" has its respective folder called "Base". If UninstallerData is empty, the installer will not make your EM eligible to be upgraded.
In case you do not have the base folder, do the following:

  • Stop your EM
  • Download a rar file attached in this Knowledge article called "base.rar"
  • Extract it under the path EM_HOME >> UninstallerData as folder file.
  • Start your EM again.
  • Stop your EM and try to upgrade.
