"Status unavailable, open Symantec Endpoint Protection for information" is normal when Security Center doesn't control Windows Defender and a third-party AV product is installed. It's simply telling you that you need to open SymCorpUI to manage AV and get more status. If there is a problem (definitions aren't current or Auto Protect is disabled for instance), a yellow exclamation point will be displayed
