The R3_GET_INTERCEPTION is failing: Function 'GetInterception' not applicable due to interface configuration

Issue/Introduction

The R3_GET_INTERCEPTION is failing when the SAP agent is using the latest SAP JCO v3.1 or higher, and if the SAP Connection is cnfigured to use XBP v2.0. 

Error message in the agent's log:

 R3_GET_INTERCEPTION

U02004157 Function 'GetInterception' not applicable due to interface configuration.

Cause

SAP System configuration issue

Resolution

The R3_GET_INTERCEPTION  can also be used with XBP v3.0 provided that the ABAP INITXBP2 in SAP to explicitly set the Interception version within XBP 3.0 to 2.0. Please ask your ABAP System Administration to modify the setting on the ABAP System.
