Issue/Introduction

We have a requirement that AppNeta monitoring allow for decryption of SSL traffic to match corporate policy as all employee SSL traffic gets decrypted and analyzed. This is achieved this by installing a CA certificate in the workstation browsers to establish a chain of trust and allow inspection hardware (which has that same certificate) to decrypt the SSL traffic.

Looking into the TechDocs, there is the following:

TechDocs : AppNeta : Web Server SSL Key/Certificate

TechDocs : AppNeta : CA Certificate

According to the CA Certificate page above it looks like it is actually possible to achieve this. Is there any additional information on what the MPs support (other than the installation instructions in that docs page)?

Environment

AppNeta Experience Monitoring 15.2

Resolution

We have no further documentation regarding this as it is a newly supported feature. There is currently a bug that limits this to a single certificate however with the EMP 15.2.2 release, bundled certificates will also be supported. Currently support is available for all EMPs but not the CMPs.

So this will work for HTTP monitoring and will also work for Browser with EMP 15.2.
