How can you clear and retrigger all events in a threshold profile?

Issue/Introduction

We are looking to start fresh in a Threshold Profile.  How can we clear everything and trigger everything again?

Environment

All supported DX NetOps Performance Management releases

Resolution

Flipping the logic of the Threshold Profile, waiting for a poll or two (depending on profile configuration), then flipping the logic back will clear then retrigger all of the alarms.

Take this example, you have a threshold profile set up for event at greater than or equal to 80% CPU Utilization and to clear when the CPU Utilization is less than 80%

To perform this "reset", you would change the logic to trigger when below 80% and clear when above or equal to 80%.

 

One word of caution with this method, if you have something upstream consuming these events like Spectrum and ServiceNow, this process will create q large amount of false positives depending on how many items you are monitoring under this threshold profile.
