We have setup AppNeta's Monitoring Policies to monitor some targets from a number of source Monitoring Points, however there's a few Monitoring Points we'd like to remove.
AppNeta's Monitoring Policies support Exclusion filters much like that when listing Delivery or Experience paths. When creating Monitoring Point Rules, it's important to understand that each rule is independent of each other.
Keep in mind when using the Exclusion rule, you are making a rule to create paths to the target for ALL MONITORING POINTS except the excluded device(s). In the example below, there's a small fleet of 4 monitoring points, all monitoring points will be added EXCEPT the specified V35:
Be careful when making conflicting rules. The first rule removes a specific Monitoring Point from the list, and the second rule adds All Monitoring Points, which results in ignoring the first rule:
You can combine multiple filters into one rule. With "All Monitoring Point Types" selected, and excluding one specified monitoring point, we can see the final results from the Preview button:
You can review the results of the monitoring policy by using the filter in Delivery > Network Paths
The path becomes disabled, and hovering over the path provides the following: Failed - Monitoring point no longer matches monitoring rules
