Issue/Introduction

We use VIP Authenticaiton Hub - SiteMinder password authenticator with LDAP for user store.

The password authentication works for version 2.2.0+1046

It fails as "Invalid Credential" for version 2.2.3+1019

It works again after rollback to 2.2.0+1046

Environment

VIP Authentication Hub 2.2.3

SiteMinder policy server Version: 12.8; Update: 07.00; Build: 2947; CR: 00;

CA Access Gateway Agent, Version 12.8 QMR07, Update None, Label 294

Cause

Change in the VIP AuthHub from 2.2.0 - 2.2.3 is the change in the content-type header updated from application/json to application/json; charset=utf-8. This is to support the i18N characters and AuthHub will require this so this fix can not be reverted in AH.

Older Siteminder build are not accepting this and causing the Authentication to fail.

Resolution

VIP AuthHub 2.2.3/ 2.2.4 with SiteMinder 12.80.0700.2989 is the minimum build which works fine, any prior version of SiteMinder fails, So to address the login issue, it is recommended to upgrade the Siteminder environment to minimum 12.80.0700.2989 build.

AuthHub team is also providing a patch 2.2.5 version which will address this and it is slated March third week release.
