"Win64 Not Supported" Error When Uninstalling the PAM Client

Issue/Introduction

When trying to uninstall the PAM client, the following error occurs for some users.

Win64 not supported: The author of the package you are installing did not include support for this platform.

Environment

Privileged Access Manager, 4.1.3 and above

Cause

The PAM client binaries were changed to 64-bit binaries starting with the 4.1.3 release and updated to use Java 17. If the PAM client was installed prior to 4.1.3 and updated to a newer Java runtime after connecting to a 4.1.3+ appliance, then the uninstaller will generate the "Win64 not supported" error.

Resolution

To uninstall the PAM client, follow the instructions in the documentation to manually remove the PAM client based on the operating system.
