Resolution
See the steps below to register a CCS agent on Windows to a CCS Manager
Run the Agent Configuration utility that is located under the Symantec Corporation section.
In the Agent Configuration utility, select the Enable LiveUpdate on this agent from all registered managers option, and then click the Apply button.
Select Registration on the left column, and fill out the required information.
In the Agent information section, select how you would like the Agent name to be displayed in the CCS Console.
Hostname
FQDN
Alias/IP (if using this option for an Alias, it needs to be resolvable in DNS)
In the Information for Asset Creation section, if your Windows server has multiple IPv4 addresses, list the one specific IP you would like the CCS Manager to use to contact the agent to run scans. Otherwise, leave this section blank.
In the Manager Information section, enter the hostname or IP of the CCS Manager you would like to register the agent to. Leave the port to the default 5600. NOTE: Ignore the option Message Based Content Registration as it is no longer supported, and it should be left blank.
The Register for offline data collection typically should be left blank as that is only used if you want to use that functionality with an air-gapped server.
Check the Verify manager to agent communication option to make sure the manager can reach the agent to be able to run CCS scans.
When finished entering the required information, click the Register button.
You will get a pop-up if the agent registration is successful or if it failed. You can view the agent logs to get more information if it fails.
