ConnectALL error when synchronizing multi-select ALM lists values with semicolon

Issue/Introduction

Microfocus ALM multi-select fields that contain a value with a semicolon fail to synchronize with the target system.  Logs show the following error:

Record could not be created due to the error {"errorMessages":[],"errors":{"customfield_nnnnn":"Option value '<value>' is not valid"}}

 

Cause

This is caused due to the way that ALM handles semicolons in multi-select fields.  ALM is treating the semi-colon as a delimiter and providing an incomplete value.

Resolution

Because this is a limitation of ALM, there is no resolution from the ConnectALL side and semicolons would need to be avoided in dropdown lists.
