After creating a WA_Link model manually and connecting to a device's port, the Monitor Point field is blank/empty.
When the WA_Link is created by the Spectrum Discovery feature there is no issue.
DX NetOps Spectrum: Any version
Do not simply draw a pipe between the device and the WA_Link model. Proper WA_Linnk requires a nested WA_Segment. In addition, an interface model on each device must be connected to the WA_Segment (and not to the WA_Link). This modeling paradigm enables DX NetOps Spectrum to establish a fully resolved connection. It also enables the proper display of pipes in the Global Collection topology view.
1. Create a WA_Link model by clicking on the "Creates a new model by type and adds it to this view" button in the Topology tab.
2. The WA_Link model is created.
3. On the WA_Link model, select the Attributes tab and supply the value of the following attributes:
When you manually create WA_Links, the Network_Address and Network_Mask attributes are not automatically populated, even when they are connected to router interface models with valid IP addresses.
4. Create a nested WA_Segment under the WA_Link model. Select the WA_Link model on the Explorer tab to be in the WA_Link context, then create the WA_Segment model.
5. Supply the following information to create the WA_Segment:
6. The WA_Segment is created underneath WA_Link.
7. Right-click the WA_Segment and select the "Start Connection" option.
8. Go to the device's Interface tab, select the port, right-click, and select the "Connect With WA_Segment" (this is the model name you started the connection) option:
9. Select the WA_Link model and in the Information tab the Monitor Point is set to the device's port.
10. When the port goes down, an alarm is generated on the WA_Link model.
