Issue/Introduction

When a new child project is created within the Rally, it is expected that users should be able to view existing releases associated with that project. These releases often contain important information such as planned features, timelines, and other project-related details. They are crucial for tracking progress, planning future work, and coordinating team efforts. However, users are currently unable to see these existing releases in the newly created child projects when using the Release Metrics

Environment

Cause

A plausible cause for the non-visibility of releases in the new child projects could be related to the ‘Cascade’ button settings during the creation of a new release under the project. If a user accidentally disables the ‘Cascade’ button, the release will not propagate to the child projects.

Resolution

As a solution, we suggest creating a new release specifically for the subproject that is currently missing one. It is crucial that the name and mandatory field details of this new release match those of the Parent Releases. This consistency is essential for ensuring the accurate filtering of the ‘Release Metrics’.
