Rally: Integrate Rally and Power BI

Issue/Introduction

Need to integrate with Power BI reports. The source data would be from Rally.

Environment

Rally SAAS

Resolution

Integrate Rally and Power BI using Basic authentication.

NOTE: Support has only used the Power BI desktop app for connecting with Rally.

Steps:

1. Login to Rally using Subscription/workspace credentials.
2. Create a test account (example: [e-mail]) in Rally and make sure it has access to all your projects.
3. Add the user account to your Subscription settings page in the SSO exception list. (Required only when you are SSO enabled)
   
4. Save and close
5. Open the Power Bi Desktop app
6. Click on Get data from another Source --> WEB
   
7. Use the WSAPI URL for accessing data.
   
8. Give the credentials in Basic (Both the Username & Password ). --> Hit Connect.

Here, you have successfully created a connection between Rally and Power BI.
