e2e_appmon - Execution error opening .src with NimRecorder.exe

Issue/Introduction

When trying to edit a .src file using NimRecorder, the following error is encountered:

Execution error in XXXX.src
Unknown file format ('<Path>\XXXX.src') Please recompile script.

 

After recompiling the script, the same error occurs.

Environment

e2e_appmon probe 3.01
Nimrecorder 7.2.65

Cause

Two versions of Nimrecorder were installed.  After uninstalling the older version, the file mapping was removed.

Resolution

Readd the file mapping using the following steps:

• Right-click on any .src file
• Choose Properties
• On the "Open With" line, note that is shows that this type of file will be opened with TaskExec.exe instead of NimRecorderEditor.exe
• Click on the Change button next to "Open With"
• In the window that pops up, navigate to the nimrecorder director and choose NimRecorderEditor.exe
• You can repeat the above steps to confirm that NimRecorderEditor.exe is displayed in the Open With line of the properties.
