Issue/Introduction

Need to change the Xtraction database hostname and IP address.

Environment

Xtraction

All Supported Versions and Supported Windows Operating Systems

Resolution

If only the Xtraction database's server Hostname and IP address are changing, the only thing that will need to be done is from within the Xtraction Settings application:

1. Launch Xtraction Settings application

2. Click on Create/Update database (should be under the "General" tab)

3. Change the name inside the "Server" field to the new database Server Hostname and then click "Test" to verify the connection succeeded

4. Click Update Database

5. Click OK to close out of Xtraction Settings

Additional Information

If the CA Service Desk Manager MDB database is hosted on the same database server as the Xtraction database, you will also need to edit the "Connection String" settings from within the Data Model Editor to reflect the new Server Hostname.
