Issue/Introduction

Device models showing suppressed condition in Spectrum OneClick even though they are reachable

Environment

Version: Any
Component: Events and Alarms

Cause

Possible root causes:

1 - There is a event configured to assert a suppressed condition

2 - For a model that was in a lost contact status, the Condition attribute id 0x1000a was manually change to Normal. The next time Spectrum asserted a Suppressed condition for lost contact and then regained contact, the condition will be set to Suppressed again even if the device is contactable by Spectrum

Resolution

To resolve each issue:

1 - Reconfigured events to not generate a suppressed alarm unless there is a specific business reason for doing so.

2 - Do not manually change the value of the Condition attribute id 0x1000a as this will cause unwanted results. Spectrum relies on certain events to generate specific alarms/conditions using specific probable causes. To recover, you must restart the SpectroSERVER.
