How to Migrate Identity Governance to a new Server

Issue/Introduction

How can the Identity Governance be migrated from its current server to another? 

For example, how can we move the Identity Governance from internally hosted Virtual Machines to Cloud-based Virtual Machines?

Resolution

Identity Governance holds all relevant information in the database.   
To move Identity Governance to a new system:


1. Make a copy of the database (if the database is being moved) 

2. Install Governance pointing to the copy of (or the original) database

3. Patch to the same version / patch level as the existing system. 

4. Log into Governance and update any URLs that may have changed, for instance, if you also move the Jasper report engine the Reporting configuration will need to be updated. 

 

NOTE:  All Campaigns should be in a completed state before performing this move.
