Duplicate IP and MAC alarm on SS after failover

Issue/Introduction

I was wondering how to permanently silence the duplicate IP and MAC alarm on the Servers that host our primary and secondary spectrum servers,

we Have the servers Mapped to monitor connectivity but when failover occurs we get duplicate alarm as the VNM switches over then back.

Environment

Spectrum 23.3.x

Cause

The duplicate alarm was asserted on a type of windows host.

The primary and secondary SPECTROServer’s had also been modeled as host_Device.

It was actually the host_Device model that was getting the duplicate IP alarm.

Resolution

On the Windows host_device models for the primary and secondary SS,

Go to the attributes tab, and set

NeedDuplicateModel 0x11cde

Value to no (default is yes)
