Issue/Introduction

The Symantec Management Console will not open. We see this error:

"An error has occurred that prevents the Symantec Management Console displaying correctly."

In the SMP logs we see:

Execution in SIM helper AppDomain failed.

We tried to do a full repair on the Symantec_CMDB. When it starts the configuration portion, it fails and we see the following:

ITMS 8.7

Cause

Database corruption caused by Microsoft SQL Server "Merge Replication".

Resolution

Restoring the Symantec_CMDB fixed the issue.
