Issue/Introduction

When adding elements to Endevor, the error C1LB040E occurs and forces the ELIB to go into a READ-ONLY status. This error only occurs against specific systems with the same ELIB Delta file.

Environment

Cause

This problem will occur only if one of the following PTFs are installed:

• LU08331 - Version 18.0
• LU08370 - Version 18.1
• LU08332 - Version 19.0

These PTF's introduce messages C1LB039I and C1LB040E:

• C1LB039I is written to C1MSGS1 when an ELIB is about to reach an internal limit. Less than 65536 updates are available.
• C1LB040E is written to C1MSGS1 when an ELIB has reached the internal limit. Any action fails because the ELIB became READ-ONLY.

Resolution

The following HIPER PTFS have been published to resolve the problem:

If there is a need to verify if an ELIB needs immediate attention , the following steps can be followed: 

To verify if an ELIB data set needs immediate action, perform the Inquire function of the BC1PNLIB utility:

• Run the Inquire function without any options.

• • If the "Last Updated Stamp" value exceeds 15 million, plan an immediate outage for your ELIB during offline hours as described in the action instructions in message C1LB040E.
