Issue/Introduction

After vApp 14.5 upgrade Provisioning Server won't start error code 1

Error in console:

Failed to start the Provisioning Server - error code 1

The Provisioning Server failed to start (error #1) - please start it manually

Environment

Virtual Application cluster upgrade to version 14.5 2nd node. 

Cause

Check certificates in /opt/CA/Directory/dxserver/config/ssld/personalities

You will see incorrectly named certificates for Provisioning Server DSA's.

ca-prov-srv-02-<dsa name>.pem - correct 

ca-prov-srv-02-01-<dsa name>.pem - incorrect

Only the certificates for the 02 server get names correctly.  The ones for the 01 server get a name 02-01.

Resolution

Workaround:

Manually rename the 02-01 certificates to be 01 certificates, and move the old certificates (if any are there) to a backup folder.

ca-prov-srv-02-<dsa name>.pem - correct 

ca-prov-srv-01-<dsa name>.pem - correct 

Additional Information

Issue will be resolved in 14.5.1 upgrade tool.
