JasperSoft Chart View and Custom Sorting

Issue/Introduction

When presenting a report in chart view, need to find a way to apply a custom sort order when needed.

For example, the data is displayed alphabetically by default and can be changed to ascending or descending orders but if a custom sort is needed, cannot seem to be able to do so in the chart properties and functions.

Is this possible?

Environment

JasperSoft 7.9 and 8.1

All Supported Windows Operating Systems

Resolution

The ability to sort the dataset from chart view is currently an enhancement request Tibco engineering is working on.

The enhancement request was submitted under JS-20833 and will be addressed in an upcoming JasperSoft release, but no ETA is available.

You can change the chart sorting by first building a crosstab and then sorting inside the crosstab and then switching to chart view, but there is no way to apply sorting straight from the chart view currently.
