Outlook mail message body disappearing after about 30 seconds

Issue/Introduction

If the sender of the email does not answer the agent prompt then after 30 seconds the body of the email will disappear from view.
However, the email body is still there and will be received once the sender answers the prompt and the email is sent.
This is a user experience and no contents are lost.

Cause

Microsoft says "This is a timing issue and is essentially by design".

Resolution

Microsoft provided the following workaround. 

1. Change or Create a new Registry key with the name "HungAppTimeout" (as REG_SZ) in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop to a higher value like 30000 (implies 30s - default value is 3s) to prevent the hung app code from triggering.
2. Log off the currently logged-in user or restart the system for the changes to take effect
3. Launch Outlook and perform the steps again to see if the issue is reproducible.

Note that with this change being system-wide, possibly all Windows apps will appear hung only after 30 seconds, or the time you configured in the registry setting.
