A Linux or Mac package is missing from the Endpoint Protection Manager.

Issue/Introduction

You have one of the following:

• A Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager (SEPM) running in an isolated (dark) network with one or more missing Linux or Mac packages.  
• A SEPM which receives updates from a LiveUpdate Administrator (LUA) with one or more missing Linux or Mac packages. 

Environment

A Dark network SEPM or a SEPM that receives updates from LUA. 

Cause

Linux and Mac packages are primarily delivered to the SEPM post-install via LiveUpdate, which requires an internet connection. If the SEPM does not connect to the internet or receives updates from an LUA, it may not be able to download the installation packages. 

Resolution

Download the missing packages from this article, then import them by either A or B:

1. Import one package at a time:
   
   1. Download and unzip the package into a new folder, so that the DAT and INFO files are available for import.
   2. Follow the steps in Importing client installation packages into Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager (broadcom.com) to import the INFO file (which links to the DAT in the same folder)
      
      
2. Import the packages in bulk:
   1. Download and unzip each needed package into a new folder together, so that the DAT and INFO files are available for import.
      (Note: Multiple packages of the same type (Linux, Mac, or Windows) all have the same filename. You may only be able to import one of each type in bulk.)
   2. Copy all of the .DAT and .INFO files into the packages folder for your SEPM (Default: C:\Program Files (x86)\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\tomcat\packages)
   3. Stop the SEPM services
   4. Navigate to the SEPM bin folder (Default: C:\Program Files (x86)\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\tomcat\bin)
   5. Right-click on upgrade.bat, and run as administrator
   6. Complete the upgrade wizard and confirm each package imported successfully.
   7. Confirm SEPM services have started automatically

You should now have the necessary packages in the SEPM UI under Admin > Install Packages.

Note: Linux packages are an installer stub which requires access to a repo for installation, or repackaging via seplpkg.
