Issue/Introduction

Looking at the feasibility of installing the BSI application of version 8.3.5.5 in an environment with two tiers (Application and Web Server) in Workgroup mode

Environment

CA BSI 8.3.5.5+

 

Cause

We would like to install BSI in the Workgroup environment

Resolution

CA Business Service Insight requires a dedicated account with the following properties for all services and entities:
The account is a domain account.
The account is a member of the local administrator group.
The account does not require domain administrator rights.
Use the same account for all CA Business Service Insight servers.
All application servers and the web server must exist in the same Windows domain.

This is a requirement for the associated inter-machine communication over MSMQ to work correctly; non-domain accounts or Workgroups will cause problems.
