Clarity Custom Jasper Studio report is failing

Issue/Introduction

You have a custom Jaspersoft Studio Report that was working perfectly fine in Jaspersoft 7.8, When you upgraded to Jaspersoft 8.1 the same report is failing when try to run immediately or when you schedule with the same exact parameter

Error Message:

  AsyncJasperPrintAccessor,pool-9-thread-4:321 [] - Error during report execution
net.sf.jasperreports.governors.MaxPagesGovernorException: Report "XYZ" exceeded the limit of 1,000 maximum pages.

 

Cause

The XYZ report failing is due to only showing 10 records on each page instead of 50 records in Jaspersoft 7.8

The report was created in Jaspersoft Studio 6.8 and due to element properties in the report template might behave differently after a JasperReports engine (JRL used by JRS or JSS) upgrade

Resolution

Workaround 1

1. Export the report template from the working environment
2. Open in Jaspersoft Studio 7.9
3. Update the "Height & Width" 
4. Run/Save the report in Jaspersoft Studio 7.9
5. Publish the report into Jaspersoft Server

Workaround 2 

1. Export the report with the legacy key from the working environment
2. Import the report with legacy key into non working environment
3. Overwrite the existing report
4. It should retain the original setting and report will work.

Note: If the 2nd workaround doesn't work then please proceed with the first one.
