Issue/Introduction

Starting the Spectrum OneClick java client using OpenJDK and OpenWebStart can take a long time (up to 2-3 minutes). This article outlines how to reduce the startup time if you are using HTTP to access Spectrum OneClick.

Note that this does NOT apply to clients using HTTPS to connect the OC client to the OOC server.

Environment

Spectrum OneClick client using OpenJDK and OpenWebStart

Resolution

  1. Open the OpenWebStart settings application (<local location>\IcedTeaWeb\WebStart\bin\itweb-settings.exe)
  2. Go to the Security
  3. Check the 'Do not favor http requests' setting.
  4. Click Apply and OK.

Do NOT use this setting if you are using HTTPS to access Spectrum OneClick.
