Error saving French install of Reporting Server 2022 when configuring IT Analytics

Issue/Introduction

While attempting to 'Verify Connection' for SQL Server 2022 Report Server installed in French during IT Analytics configuration, the following or similar error may be seen:

Error Saving Reporting Server: The selected SQL Server Reporting Services instance is SQL ServerVersion 16.0.1114.11 de Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services. SQL Server Analysis Services and SQL Server Reporting Services must be of the same version.

The error seems inaccurate because the Analysis Server and Reporting Server are installed on the same SQL Server 2022 instance and are both major version 16.x

Cause

The issue has been reported to our developers and appears to be caused by a change in the 'Version' name from previous versions of SQL Server Reporting Server. On SQL 2022 French the 'Version' is listed as: 'Version 16.0.1114.11 de Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services' and this is an unexpected string.

 

Resolution

A Point Fix for this issue has been provided for 8.7.1. The Point Fix is available from the following link and can be found under ITA (IT Analytics Solution) Fixes:

After installing the pointfix (instructions in readme), you should now be able to 'Verify Connection' for Reporting Service without receiving an error about version mismatch.
