Issue/Introduction
The Gen 8.6 Build Tool (BT) opens minimized and cannot be expanded i.e. when clicking on it, it remains as it remains as a minimized icon.
It can be changed to a visible window by using the Task Manager right mouse button and the Maximize option:
Cause
The user had been using 2 display monitors in the office and the problem occurred when using a single monitor at home.
If the BT was first started when the user was in the office and it was located on the 2nd monitor then when using a single monitor it cannot open as a Normal window because its saved coordinates are on the 2nd display that no longer exists. Similarly, the same root cause means just clicking on the Minimized BT does not automatically expand it to show it in a normal window as any other Minimized program would do.
Resolution
Stop the BT and delete the file user.configure from the directory "%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\CA\Gen 8.6\cfg\buildtool".
