VML training fails with error - Training process was terminated unexpectedly

Issue/Introduction

You have created a new Vector Machine Learning (VML) profile following Symantec documentation and have uploaded a positive and negative archive (zip) 

When you click the Start Training button the progress screen does not move beyond Step 1 and times out after a few minutes with the error: 

"Training process was terminated unexpectedly error. Please check the logs for more details"

FINEST level tomcat logs show:

Cause

The Enforce in this case was using a TLS connection to the Oracle database. 

Resolution

Switching the connection back to standard non-TLS resolved the issue and allowed training to be completed. 

Once profile training is done, the connection could be switched back to TLS and any VML policies created from the profiles can execute without issues.

 

The issue is not reproducible in 16.0.1
