Issue/Introduction

Assistance required for indexing files in SharePoint for IDM profiling. The requirement involves maintaining an IDM profile with files stored in SharePoint SaaS.

Environment

15.8.x, 16.0.x, 16.0.1.x

Cause

Symantec DLP currently lacks support for IDM indexing of SharePoint Online.

The following are feature requests for direct cloud-to-cloud indexing for IDM:
- DLP CDS - SharePoint and Teams remote DLP indexing - ISFR-1671
- Office 365: Cloud-to-cloud indexing - ISFR-2256

Resolution

Remote Indexing is the preferred method. It involves downloading data from SaaS services and utilizing a remote indexer before uploading the indices to Enforce.
