Issue/Introduction

Is the PTDB UTS conversion, referred to in the Holddata for PTF LU09808, performed as part of the Compare Db2 Objects and Create Required Db2 Objects post install tasks?

Resolution

The conversion is performed by the Create job.

The conversion process for single-table segmented tablespaces uses the ALTER TABLESPACE MAXPARTITIONS command, followed by a SHRLEVEL CHANGE REORG.

The conversion process for multi-table segmented tablespaces depends on the currently activated Db2 function level:    

   - For environments with function level below V12R1M508, the conversion uses
     UNLOAD/DROP/CREATE/LOAD.                                          
   - For environments with function level V12R1M508 or higher, the conversion  
     uses ALTER TABLESPACE MOVE TABLE command, followed by a SHRLEVEL  
     CHANGE REORG.                     

It is recommended that the Compare, Create and Bind tasks are executed as soon as possible after the maintenance has been applied.
