UIM - Max. restarts reached for probe 'oi_connector'

Issue/Introduction

After OS patching or unexpected/unplanned OS restart, you may notice that the oi_conenctor probe is down (red) and the functionality cannot be restored (re-validating, restarting does not help).

The following error message is present in the OI_connector logs (nothing more specific) 

 

LOG ERROR: Max. restarts reached for probe 'oi_connector' (command = <startup java>) 

Environment

UIM 20.4.x, 23.4.x

 

oi_connector probe 

Cause

Corrupted oi_connector.cfg file 

Resolution

If you have a backup of oi_connector.cfg file, replace it with the corrupted file, and restart the affected robot.

Otherwise, redeploy the oi_connector probe to the affected robot and the problem should be resolved
