SOI Services not starting with error code 1

Issue/Introduction

SOI service would not start with pop-up window

Windows could not start the CA SOI Event Management on Local Computer...service-specific error code 1

Environment

SOI 4.2 CU5

Cause

Corrupt JRE

Resolution

Review \soi\jsw\logs\EventManagement_wrapper.log

Error occurred during initialization of VM
java/lang/NoClassDefFoundError: java/lang/Object
JVM exited while loading the application.
Child process: Java version: terminated with an exit code of 1.

 

Went to the \soi\jre-64\bin and ran java -version

Got the java/lang/Object error instead of 

openjdk version "1.8.0_342"
OpenJDK Runtime Environment (Temurin)(build 1.8.0_342-b07)
OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM (Temurin)(build 25.342-b07, mixed mode)

 

This indicate a corrupt JRE so copy the whole jre-64 folder from the SOI Manager to the server
