Dictionary update jobs during IDMS upgrade

Issue/Introduction

When upgrading IDMS to a new release, after the process is finished, it is customary to apply any PTFs published since the release of the PAX file that was used to perform the install.

When implementing HOLDDATA for these PTFs, it will probably be necessary to run dictionary update jobs, which in some cases could amount to a lot of activity. These dictionary update jobs will have already been run during the configuration process, so this has the potential to duplicate a lot of work.

All supported releases.

Resolution

Download and apply the PTFs published since the creation of the PAX file, before running the configuration jobs.

This will eliminate the need to run the HOLDDATA steps that update the dictionaries, as they will be performed (with the updated input files) during the upgrade process.
