08-09 Top Secret Violation Using The CSM to z/OSMF Migration Tool Package (CSM2ZOSM - REXX)

Issue/Introduction

When trying to use the CSM to z/OSMF migration tool (CSM2ZOSM - REXX), the REXX gets an error with authentication and at the end, it appears the CSI’s were migrated, but they are not. The console log shows password/phrase failures, but the correct passphrase is entered by typing it in Notepad and pasting it into the job. This phrase works when the same ACID logs into TSO. 

TSSUTIL shows SRC/DRC of *08*-09, which indicates an invalid password/phrase.

Resolution

In the CSM2ZOSM REXX exec where it has:

    /* Get the user password and report data set name */
    say "Enter the password for the "ZosmfUser" user at",
        ZosmfUri":"ZosmfPort"/zosmf"
    pull ZosmfPw

Change line:

    pull ZosmfPw

to:

    parse pull ZosmfPw

Note: "pull ZosmfPw" will uppercase the passphrase.  By changing it to "parse pull ZosmfPw" it will honor the passphrase as it was typed.
