Issue/Introduction

What is the best way to monitor the system resources on the NetOps systems (DA, DC, Spectroserver and OneClick)?

Environment

DX NetOps: All Supported Versions

Cause

We would like to set up some thresholds on memory and space to ensure available resources.

Resolution

If you want to monitor local system resources on the NetOps systems, you will need to enable an SNMP agent (native or SystemEdge).
You will then need to discover them in either Spectrum or PM.

WARNING: Once you have added SNMP metrics to the DA or DC, you cannot remove them.

Additional Information

Out of the box, we provide self-monitoring metrics and views for the Performance Management systems,
including the Data Aggregator, Data Collector(s), and Virtual Network Assurance (VNA).

Note: For Spectrum, if you install a SNMP Agent, it must utilize a port other than 162.
