Issue/Introduction

In the processes probe, I am trying to monitor a process that has a very long string of commandline parameters - over 1000 bytes.

When I click the 'Test' button to verify the process, the probe crashes and I receive a communication error.

If I don't click 'Test' and just click 'Save' then I get an error message as follows:

Cause

The processes probe has a limitation of 1000 bytes for the combined name+command line, but the Test button does not respect this limitation and crashes the probe when more than 1000 bytes are present in the test string.

Resolution

This will be resolved in the next (after 4.83) version of the processes probe; clicking the Test button will result in a similar warning as that which occurs when you attempt to save the profile.
