In LiveUpdate policy, Group update provided (GUP) is configured, If GUP is not available for the configured time client should switch to Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager (SEPM) for content download.
It is observed that the client continues to check for GUP even after the configured time to switch to SEPM is exhausted.
Restarting SEP service, system reboot, reinstall or repair of SEP doesn't fix the issue.
SEP 14.3
The SEP client does not fall back because the error code returned from curl is 'util::TimeoutException'.
This issue is fixed in 14.3 RU9 build 11083+, SEP client does not failover from Group Update Provider to SEPM when GUP is unreachable.
There is a hotfix available for 14.3 RU6, RU7 and RU8. Please contact support to obtain the same.
