SMSMSE virus definitions fail to automatically update

Issue/Introduction

Virus definitions within Symantec Mail Security For Microsoft Exchange (SMSMSE) do not automatically update.  Clicking the "Run LiveUpdate Certificated Definitions" button from within the SMSMSE console successfully updates the virus definitions.  Additionally, attempts to manually create the task in the Microsoft Task Scheduler results in an error similar to the following:

"Task registered task <TASK_NAME> , but not all specified triggers will start the task. User Action: Ensure all the task triggers are valid as configured. Additional Data: Error Value: 2147942403."

Cause

The operating system was unable to find the specified path.

Resolution

Verify that the folder "C:\Windows\system32\logfiles\scm\" exists.  If it does not exist then create the folder then edit the LiveUpdate policy in SMSMSE and deploy the changes.
