ERROR: "XCOMN0287E ERROR SETTING REMOTE USERID" transferring from XCOM for AS/400

Issue/Introduction

Getting "XCOMN0287E ERROR SETTING REMOTE USERID" when transferring from AS/400 to Windows. 

Environment

• XCOM™ Data Transport® for AS/400 i5/OS
• XCOM™ Data Transport® for Windows

Cause

The Windows password is case-sensitive and AS400 puts all letters of the password into upper case before transmitting it.

Resolution

Put the password in single quotes - 'password' - when sending to Windows or when transmitting any password that is in lower case. You can avoid this by using single quotes for the password, then it will be transferred as is and will match the one stored on Windows.
