Issue/Introduction
Dynamic groups stop updating. When trying to "edit" the group, the devices are found, but after clicking "save," the group is not updated with the new servers.
To work around the problem, the filter needs to be changed and then changed back to update the list successfully.
Environment
DX UIM 23.4.*
Cause
When dynamic groups are first created, the wasp probe sends the query to the database. After the creation, the nis_server probe is responsible of updating the dynamic groups.
If the groups are not updating automatically, there might be an issue with the nis_server probe. The nis_server probe is hosted in the primary hub.
When changing the filter manually, the list updates correctly, because it bypasses the nis_server.
Resolution
1. First, make sure the correct version of nis_server is installed for your version of DX UIM.
Example:
Running DX UIM 23.4.2 (CU2), the version of nis_server must be 23.4.2
2. Perform the following steps:
• Deactivate nis_server
• Wait for port and pid to clear.
• Activate nis_server
