Mismatching of Rally Formatted IDs when using the search box for linking an artifact

Issue/Introduction

The interface that matches work items with fragments of Formatted IDs often mismatches. It displays work items that do not match, in addition to work items that match. An example is shown below, in which the user has entered "DE2" but the interface displays a nonmatching work item as the first hit.

Resolution

 This is working as designed. Essentially the search searches all Rich Text fields in the work items for a match.
