Issue/Introduction

You have noticed that an archive rule has triggered on a file attachment that does not have a common archive extension, such as .zip or .rar for example.

Cause

Some files use archive methods as part of their own file structure for various reasons including compression and encapsulation. These files are essentially archive files  with specific purposes. They can usually be opened with the archive file extractor. For example, you can use a zip extractor to decompress and extract files from an attachment that uses a zip archive method, even if it does not state a .zip extension.

Resolution

This behavior is working as designed.
