Issue/Introduction

When trying to update the API Socket Path name (in $NM NMAPI parameter group), the following error message is returned:

BAIPWI64 Invalid API Socket path name: Error rc=8 fdbk=199 zFSrc=111 zFSrsn=5BC

Cause

The user ID assigned to the NetMaster region does not have access to the path name specified.

Resolution

• The user ID assigned to the NetMaster region will require execute permission to directory /var and write permission to directory /var/sock.
• The user ID assigned to the NetMaster API Service will require execute permission to both directories /var and /var/sock.
