Unable to OSRestore an EDR S550 to version 4.8 or earlier

Issue/Introduction

While attempting to reinstall (a.k.a. OSRestore) an Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) S550 appliance to version 4.8 or older, you receive the error "Pane is dead" and the OSRestore fails.

Cause

Newer models of the S550 include a different model of HDD.  Support for newer model of HDD was not included until EDR version 4.9.

Resolution

Use EDR version 4.9 or newer when OSRestoring the EDR S550 appliance.
