Duplicate GUIDs for computers running the Symantec Management Agent after creating an image for Virtual Machines

Issue/Introduction

The customer used a Dell utility to create an image for several Virtual Machines. All of the machines had duplicate GUIDs

Environment

ITMS 8.6.x, 8.7.x

Cause

The customer had not run SYSPREP on the image.

Resolution

The customer ran the following to SYSPREP and the image intended for Virtual Machines (VM):

sysprep.exe /oobe /generalize /shutdown /mode:vm
