Issue/Introduction

Webpulse integration with SMG is not working properly. SMG fails to detect all URLs in the messages.
The verdict shown in Message Audit Logs is: (url scanning error): unknown URL 

Environment

SMG 10.8.1 with proxy configured

Cause

SMG is bypassing the configured proxy when communicating with WebPulse URLs:

  • sp.cwfservice.net
  • list.bluecoat.com
  • webpulse.es.bluecoat.com
  • subscription.es.bluecoat.com

    Resolution

    This is a defect with the version 10.8.1, it will be addressed in next releases.
    To address this issue, make sure that your network infrastructure allows access from your SMG appliance(s) to WebPulse URLs for both HTTP and HTTPS traffic, while disregarding the integrated proxy in SMG.
